YouTube is set to roll out a pilot program featuring technology that will allow artists, or their rightsholders, to “detect and manage AI-generated content on YouTube that simulates their singing voices.” This initiative will also extend to public figures, providing tools to detect and manage AI-generated content that depicts their faces, addressing the growing concern over audio and visual deepfakes.
Additionally, YouTube has suggested upcoming plans to help creators license their videos to AI companies for training purposes while taking a firm stance against unauthorized scraping of content by those companies. “We’ll continue to employ measures to ensure that third parties respect these terms, including ongoing investments in the systems that detect and prevent unauthorized access, up to and including blocking access from those who scrape,” YouTube stated.
