The Weeknd to Livestream Sold-Out São Paulo Concert on YouTube: Fans of The Weeknd are buzzing with excitement over his upcoming concert at Estádio Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil, with tickets for the September 7th show selling out quickly. In a thrilling development, his team has partnered with YouTube to livestream the event for free.

The concert will be broadcast on his YouTube channel, which boasts 35.6 million subscribers, complete with a chat feature for fans and online merchandise available for purchase. Notably, 10% of the net proceeds from merch sales will be donated to the BrazilFoundation’s Brazilian Soul Fund.

This isn’t The Weeknd’s first foray into livestreaming. Back in August 2020, during the height of the lockdowns, he collaborated with VR startup Wave on a livestreamed concert for TikTok, which garnered over 2 million views.

Will his YouTube broadcast surpass that? It’s quite possible. According to YouTube, The Weeknd is one of the most-viewed artists of 2024, with over 6 billion views across his content in the past year.
