American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Austyn Gillette has unveiled his latest EP, Moments, a five-track collection that further highlights his gift for thoughtful songwriting and emotionally rich soundscapes. Blending alternative and indie influences, the release captures Gillette’s ability to create music that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.
Throughout Moments, Gillette combines introspective lyrics with lush melodies and textured arrangements, resulting in a listening experience that is as engaging as it is reflective. The EP is filled with memorable guitar riffs, touches of vintage synthesizers, and his distinctive vocal delivery, all coming together to create songs that are warm, immersive, and emotionally resonant.
Originally from Los Angeles, Gillette began writing songs as a teenager while simultaneously building a successful professional skateboarding career. Over the years, he developed a musical identity shaped by alternative, indie, and hip-hop influences, creating songs designed to make listeners move, think, and connect on a deeper level.
His debut solo album, Sensorisk, released in 2018, introduced audiences to his conversational songwriting style and storytelling approach. Three years later, after relocating to New York City, he wrote his second studio album, Words We Won’t Wear, during one of the city’s harshest winters. The album marked a significant artistic step forward, showcasing more focused songwriting and ambitious themes. It was later supported by a West Coast tour alongside Cat Power.
Gillette’s creative journey has continued to evolve in the years since. In 2023, he released the single “Leaning into Your Palms,” accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by David Findlay that premiered through NOWNESS before screening at film festivals around the world. The following year, he collaborated with the band Tennis on the singles “Fingers to the Flame” and “Out of Our Heads.”

A move to Paris in 2025 brought fresh inspiration, with travel, new surroundings, and periods of introspection shaping his creative outlook. Returning to Los Angeles in 2026, Gillette channelled those experiences into Moments, recording the EP at Rancho Deluxe in Nashville.
The result is a beautifully crafted collection that reflects an artist continuing to grow both personally and creatively. With Moments, Austyn Gillette once again demonstrates his ability to transform life’s experiences into songs that are thoughtful, evocative, and quietly unforgettable.
About the EP: Moments
Inspired by a year of travel across Europe, Moments explores themes of fulfillment, change, love, and self-awareness. Influenced by the Swedish concept of “lagom”, meaning “just the right amount”, the record reflects on modern ambition, contentment, and the beauty of living in the present.
