Wild & Innocent is Nickelxon’s most personal and powerful project yet — a vivid reflection of love, chaos, loyalty, and growth drawn straight from his own life. The EP took nearly a year to create, during which Nickelxon faced moments of doubt but found strength in the very experiences that inspired the music. Every track tells a story — from the pain and betrayal that shaped Spray the Mullar to the gratitude and resilience running through Dear Mama and Benz.
Blending Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Afro-swing into his signature Afro-fusion style, Wild & Innocent is entirely self-produced, mixed, and mastered by Nickelxon himself, showcasing both his artistry and technical skill. Even the bonus tracks (Champion Dance and Benz) introduce a fresh sonic direction that expands his sound without losing authenticity.
At its core, Wild & Innocent carries a message of perseverance — to keep going no matter where life takes you, to stay thankful, and to never stop believing. Every beat, lyric, and melody was born from real emotion, often recorded in Nickelxon’s own mobile studio. “I hope people can feel even a fraction of what I felt while making it,” he says, recalling moments in the studio where the emotion hit so hard, he cried mid-recording. The project launches with a special listening party in Lagos’ Victoria Island at The Pulse Night Club, marking a new chapter in Nickelxon’s story.
Nickelxon is a genre-bending artist from Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, known for his seamless fusion of Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, and Dancehall. A Computer Science graduate from Delta State University, he brings a rare mix of intellect, rhythm, and raw creativity to his art. His journey began with the instruments—drums, bass, and piano—before stepping into the spotlight as a performer, songwriter, and producer.
Over the years, Nickelxon has collaborated with major Nigerian artists including Peruzzi (Traffik), Iyanya (Hastalavista), Erigga (Prayer), and Victor AD (Lost But Found), carving a name for himself as a versatile artist who can both rap and sing with ease. Describing his style as “wild and innocent,” he’s built a sound defined by heavy drums, 808s, rich Afro melodies, and heartfelt storytelling. Beyond the studio, Nickelxon hosts his own live “Music Experience” events three times a year, performing with DJs and live bands to bring his vibrant sound to life. Having already graced stages of over 5,000 people — including a concert headlined by Davido — he perfectly represents the next wave of fearless, forward-thinking African talent.
