MOSAICS share heartfelt new single ‘Sing Me To Sleep’ and announce their debut EP A Guiding Lie, due in 2026.
Having built a reputation for their blend of 90’s rock revival with the shimmer of contemporary indie, observational lyricism and biting guitar work, the band continues to showcase anthemic vocal melodies and giant, stadium worthy indie-rock soundscapes.
Produced by Engineer & Producer – George Lloyd-Owen (asst. Nick Cave, The Last Dinner Party, Yungblud), Mixed by Luie Stylianou (Judas Priest) and mastered by Grammy award winning engineer Matt Colton (The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, Fontaines D.C.), the new single leans into a more emotive side of the band’s writing, comparable to The Goo Goo Dolls’ ‘Iris’.
Speaking about the single, Owen Castillo (lead vocalist) explains: “’Sing Me To Sleep” was written earlier this year with an overwhelming feeling of disillusionment with life. The lyrics capture a desperate need for escape in the face of an increasing apathy towards the trappings of modernity. When Stu and I sat down to write after a couple months away, this song pretty much fell out of the sky, almost as if it was everything we’d been holding in during that time but couldn’t express through any other medium. It’s about reaching desperately for the comfort from some unarmed third person, whilst processing (or struggling to process) a deeply held sense that something is not right, and probably hasn’t been for a while.”
Guitarist and fellow songwriter Stu adds: “In late June we piled into my car and set off from the city to record our debut EP with our close friend and talented engineer/producer George Lloyd-Owen. We truly had the best time, opting to turn our phones off and shut the world out for the duration of our time in the countryside (aside from watching Glastonbury coverage after finishing our takes, of course).
These were some of the best moments we’ve ever had in the studio and credit to George our engineer for making the whole process so smooth, getting the best out of each of us as musicians – always pushing us when they felt our parts could have more flair, or just needed to serve the song in a different way. Thank you George, especially for not getting frustrated when I went on tangential quests in the eternal pursuit of the most “ethereal” tones.”
Now after their biggest year to date and releasing a collaborative single featuring James McCartney, MOSAICS return with the first single from their upcoming debut EP, ‘Sing Me to Sleep’ is a deeply personal musing on feeling inundated by life. Sonically tipping their hat to the likes of Feeder and Radiohead, writers Castillo and Smith are expressing in poetic verse the realities of living life with a future that is uncertain and the desperate need for comfort that isn’t forthcoming. A personal reflection on precarity and turbulent mental health, MOSAICS combine indie-rock sensibilities with driving rhythms and soaring shoegaze-inspired guitar parts to speak to an innate wistlessness they’ve observed amongst their peers and themselves.
Having gained a string of TV sync placements on the likes of ITV’s This Morning and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, Killing Eve, Obsession, Marriage & The Outlaws, MOSAICS recent single ‘Different People’ with James McCartney saw the band build a feverish hype. Having sold out multiple headline shows including a stand out at Camden Assembly, MOSAICS reached finals of the Isle of Wight New Blood competition ahead of 5000 artists before heading on a sold out UK tour with Reverend and the Makers. With growing press support across Clash, Notion, Ones To Watch, Earmilk and Atwood Magazine, the band continue on their upward trajectory.
