MONALISA is a deeply personal project, crafted over five intense weeks of writing. It serves as a musical diary, translating a pivotal moment in VKY Emotion 237’s life where he grappled with the weight of personal challenges, work, societal disrespect, housing struggles, and family pressures, while navigating the complexities of love. The album is an emotional outpouring, described by the artist as a love letter and an apology to someone he couldn’t bear to lose. The title MONALISA embodies those indescribable memories that linger.
In the studio, VKY Emotion 237 collaborated closely with his producer. Despite language barriers, they connected through the universal language of melody. Reading directly from his notebook, the artist poured his heart into the tracks, while his producer instinctively shaped the sound to match the intensity of the moment. The result is a collection of songs that feel intimate, with visuals that poignantly reflect the theme of longing for what’s lost.
Born on February 4th, 2001, in Cameroon’s South West Region, VKY Emotion 237 discovered his passion for music at age 11, penning songs and freestyling with friends in school and public spaces. His journey took a bold turn when he relocated to Italy on March 24th, 2023, at the age of 22, chasing his dreams of a music career. His debut single, I DON’T KNOW WHY, released on December 1st, 2023, under Loyalty.Studio, marked his arrival as a rising star.
