Breakout pop artist Mergui releases his poignant new single “Nothing Gold Can Stay” with Zevia, out now via Saban Music Partners. Inspired by the classic Robert Frost poem of the same name, “Nothing Gold Can Stay” is a reflective, midtempo ballad on how love and all things beautiful are fleeting. Produced and co-written by Jesse Shatkin (Sia, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus) alongside Mergui, Annie Schindel (Chappell Roan, Gracie Abrams) and Davin Kingston (John Legend, Laufey), the song blends warm pop-R&B instrumentation with haunting harmonies and emotional depth. The track is accompanied by a whimsical music video, shot in Northern Florida by Samuel Fisher.
“Nothing Gold Can Stay” follows the release of “Living Room”, Mergui’s viral hit with collaborator maryjo. The song has since gained an incredible amount of traction since its release, garnering over 8 million streams across platforms and inspiring over 50,000 original TikTok videos. Additional recent singles have recently found success through high-profile sync placements; Mergui’s track “Risk It All”was announced to be featured on EA SportsFC 26 official soundtrack and his song “Purple Rose”was included in the latest iteration of the cult video game The Sims. Mergui also continues to gain traction as a live performer, headlining an intimate acoustic tour presented by Sofar Sounds over the summer. With support from Just Seconds Apart, the tour launched in Los Angeles and hit key cities like Chicago and New York, further cementing Mergui as an artist on the rise.

About Zevia
Growing up in Orlando, Florida, life wasn’t always easy for singing/songwriting sensation Zevia. The product of a Puerto Rican mother and an Iraqi father, Zevia found herself in a dearth of cultural diversity in Central Florida. Turning to music as an outlet, and inspired by artists like NF and Jessie Reyez, Zevia sings from an authentic place of pure honesty. Her presence on TikTok reached a fever pitch when Zevia cracked the one million mark in followers and crossed 26 million in likes. She persisted with her social media presence, ultimately meeting her manager Yawovy Nyavor who took Zevia under his wing as she pieced together her debut EP.
At the top of 2022, she independently released her debut EP we’re all sad here, galvanizing a fan base of admirers who collectively embraced the rising star’s brand of beautifully brutal honesty. The project was fueled by cuts like “if depression gets the best of me” and “life, i’m over you”—both cracking well over ten million streams on Spotify alone. Labels came calling, and by the Summer of 2022, she inked a deal with Columbia Records. The deluxe version of we’re all sad herecame equipped with the new single “why am i alive” and acoustic renditions of her previous hits exemplifying the many layers to Zevia’s vocals and instrumentation. A young heart with an old soul, Zevia is taking the world by storm and brings to the table an elevated level of emotional artistry. Her intoxicating vocals and clever wordplay undoubtedly will propel the 19-year-old Florida native to new heights.
