Singer-songwriter Dani Ivory releases new single “Hope.” The single is now available on all digital streaming platforms, and you can listen to it HERE.
With “Hope,” Dani Ivory delivers a deeply personal anthem exploring resilience, vulnerability, and the quiet but unstoppable force of hope. Written during the COVID lockdown shortly after the birth of her daughter, the track reflects both Ivory’s personal journey and the universal need for love and support. “I wrote this song shortly after I gave birth to my daughter, during the COVID lockdown,” says Ivory. “I woke up in the middle of the night, and it just poured out of me. This song wasn’t only about hope for others — it was also about finding hope for myself.”
Drawing inspiration from icons like Amy Winehouse and Erykah Badu, Ivory’s soulful delivery and genre-blending sound shine through immediately. Opening with a gripping piano line, the track moves through emotional vulnerability and unshakable resolve, with lyrics that resonate: “I’ve been thinking ’bout somebody and I can’t sleep at night, just to have someone hug me, tell me ‘it’ll all be alright,’ to bring some comfort, it’s a long shot but I don’t want to give up.”
The chorus swells with grit and perseverance as Ivory sings, “’Cause this lost soul needs some love, fool / and a little help from hope/hope, anyone got some hope? / Hope, I need a little hope / hope, I’ll be just fine in due time / with a little help from hope.” By the second verse, she doubles down with unshakable resolve: “All of this weight I’ve been carrying / like 10,000 pounds holding me down / and I know it’s all in my head / the echoes of the hurtful things you said won’t break me / I’m using all that as ammunition to save me.”
