Poetry has always been the healing cement of Audren’s life. The songwriter and multiple award-winning novelist now lifts her poetic inspiration to a new level with The Good Road, a soul-stirring Indie Pop and Soft Rock single that blends reflection, intimacy, and a call for collective renewal.
In a time marked by turbulence and uncertainty, The Good Road shines as a reminder that poetry and music can guide us back to what truly matters: beauty, nature, and togetherness. For Audren, the song was born from a deeply personal revelation.
“A gigantic nostalgia suddenly popped out while I was composing and writing the lyrics,” Audren shares. “I cried a lot and realized that, within a few years, I had lost so many good things. A part of my capacity for wonder, and most of all, the ability and possibility to trust people. I wrote the song as a cry for help, a universal request for solidarity and support. I believe nostalgia can help people appreciate the parts of themselves that remain steadfast, despite the passage of time, and empower them to embark on new beginnings.”
To heighten its emotional power, Audren worked with her partner, producer, and renowned jazz guitarist Chris Rime, whose hypnotic guitar sound embraces her voice with warmth and depth. A Hammond organ enriches the arrangement, while lyrical nods to The Beatles and a Lennon-like bridge connect the track to rock’s timeless legacy of political and spiritual expression.
Yet The Good Road is not confined to longing. As the song evolves, gentle gospel harmonies build into a rich, uplifting choir. Their voices deliver reassurance and hope, emphasizing how individual commitment and small acts of kindness can come together to create powerful collective change.
The result is a spiritual and poetic ballad about rediscovering joy, resilience, and the possibility of a brighter path forward.
The Good Road is the second single from Audren’s forthcoming album Think Freedom, which will be released in November 2025.
