Cuban-born artist Eddu Dai’z is set to make waves in the Latin music scene once again with his new single, SPYM, released March 1st, 2025. We understood each other from the start, and everything flowed naturally,” Eddu shares. The song was crafted in an independent studio, where Eddu and Phily worked closely to create a track that balances both contemporary reggaeton rhythms and Eddu’s signature soulful energy. But SPYM is more than just a song, it’s an experience. The music video promises to be equally captivating, showcasing a different narrative approach. “I want to capture everyday things in a way that surprises people but still keeps the energy and sensuality of the song,” says Eddu. Eddu Dai’z, born Edunier Díaz Adan in Havana, Cuba, has been on a transformative musical journey. He began writing music at just 7 years old, and by the age of 16, he had already founded Sínimeg, a pop vocal quartet that gained significant recognition in Cuba. His success continued as part of the duo Chicos Light, where he earned widespread popularity, including a notable collaboration with Damián of Los Desiguales. After an 8-year hiatus for personal reasons, Eddu returned as a solo artist in 2022, releasing his comeback single Me Fue Mejor.
This marked the beginning of his solo career, with hits like Vive, Llegué, and A Prueba following shortly after. Eddu’s sound has evolved significantly since his return, now combining urban rhythms with timba, pop, merengue, and dembow.
