Eighty Ninety – Yourself: Indie-pop duo Eighty Ninety, comprised of brothers Abner and Harper James, have released their highly anticipated single, “Yourself,“ available now on all streaming platforms. This marks their first release following their 2023 self-titled debut album and highlights their evolution as storytellers and musicians.
“Yourself” pairs the duo’s signature minimalist pop production with deeply introspective lyrics. Described by Abner as a song about “the quiet disconnect between two people, even when they’re physically close,” the track explores the unnoticed moments that build up and lead to loss. The song’s emotional resonance is amplified by its dynamic melodies, blending acoustic and electronic elements in the band’s unique “808s and telecasters” style.
Eighty Ninety first gained recognition with their 2016 EP Elizabeth and its viral hit “Three Thirty,” which helped the band accumulate over 35 million streams and critical acclaim. Their music, which often blends personal storytelling with a polished yet intimate sound, has been featured on platforms like Netflix and MTV.
“Yourself” serves as a continuation of the duo’s musical journey, offering fans a mix of the heartfelt narratives and innovative soundscapes that have defined their work while promising new creative horizons ahead.
