Singer-songwriter Jeff Tuohy’s album Hudson Delta has made its anticipated debut today, following three impressive lead singles and superb accompanying music videos.

Hudson Delta is the Billboard Award-winning artist’s return to his roots and a fearless step toward the future. Kicked off with lead single and critically-acclaimed animation, “The Devil’s In New Orleans,” released in June, the full-length release takes listeners from the dark underbelly of Louisiana to the alleyways of New York City. Along the way, Tuohy makes a pit stop in his past with “Old Roads” and “All My Friends Are Getting Married (I’m Just Getting Stoned).” The stunning music video for “Old Roads,” featured on CMT, is an unforgettable love letter to the artist’s home state of Connecticut.

Tuohy’s cult following knows the singer-songwriter’s eclectic taste never takes a backseat to crafting quality music, proving to be a musical chameleon that cannot be camouflaged for long.

From the initial bombastic opening of “Funeral Party,” Hudson Delta bares Tuohy’s soul as he holds a wake for worries and celebrates living fearlessly. Sympathy is not in order, though, as transitioning into “Drunk Twice Today” and “Love’s A Game” divulge the good and bad of the heart and soul’s desires. While country is a stylistically new direction, “Lay Your Body Down” and “Old Roads” are expressly polished and fit for fans of Americana and country crossover.

Balancing out deeper, emotional concepts in the Price-esque “Hear Me Out” with the lighthearted, Pogues-inspired sea shanty “Sea of Galilee” highlights the dichotomy of the artist’s well.

Jeff Tuohy is more than capable of staking his claim on any genre that strikes a chord, and Hudson Delta exponentially exceeds expectations for an alternative rock artist. Refusing to exist within the confines of what some assume he should create, Jeff Tuohy boldly goes above and beyond to transport audiences to a new standard of alternative music that is refreshing and original.
