Introducing Vincent Vaughan

Vincent Vaughan is a classic ‘musician’s musician’ – a man who has dedicated more than three decades of his life telling stories of everyday people through song. His humble yet powerful style of performing has endeared him to a diverse circle of listeners for many years. Now, with the release of some of the most compelling songs of his career, he is ready to share his eclectic, three-chords-and-the-truth style with new audiences.

Welsh born to Irish parents his childhood was spent in the Tipperary village of Mullinahone. Vincent Vaughan developed an early interest in music. As a child, he taught himself to play guitar and learned to sing by trying to emulate the singers he listened to on an old record player his father bought as a Christmas present for his mother.

While Vincent Vaughan has always been devoted to his craft, his career truly began to take on a very different shape in mid 2018, when a fortuitous meeting with iconic singer-songwriter and musician Rodney Crowell at a songwriting workshop in California led to a major surge in creative inspiration for Vincent.

From here, introductions were made, friendships were forged and Vincent Vaughan went on to connect with some of the most prominent instrumentalists in the genre, including Earl Poole Ball and Bill Whitbeck, known for playing with Johnny Cash and Robert Earl Keen respectively. Additionally, he has had the honour of working with Chris Gage, long time lead guitarist and band leader for the legendary Jerry Jeff Walker.

He and his cast of collaborators eventually got to assemble in San Marcos, TX, where a long-held dream came to fruition and finally the album Vincent Vaughan had always dreamt of making was recorded.

Blending his lifelong love of Vintage Country and Americana with threads of his Irish musical heritage, the album is pure and melodic, and full of wonderful songs performed by dedicated artists.

Vincent Vaughan’s style is an eclectic blend of nostalgia and innovation. As a singer, he holds a deep reverence for lyrics and melody, and will always endeavour to do what’s best to serve the song, never his ego. His singing style is deeply poetic – sometimes heartbreaking, oftentimes uplifting, but always thought-provoking.

Following on from his three releases which were well received last year, with all three garnering a considerable amount of radio play on the likes of RTE Radio 1, including some regional stations that nominated ‘Many a Long and Lonesome Highway’, ‘Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens’, and ‘Just Because’, for song of the week, he is on the brink of emerging as a diamond in the rough and leaving a lasting legacy to the music world.

Now, with the release of some of the most compelling songs of his career, Vincent Vaughan will release his version of Richard Hawley’s song ‘Serious’ on April 21, 2023. The country offering is an re-imagined version with a smoother feel, compared to the rockabilly vibe on the original version, though not deliberately, taking on an almost crooner vibe.

Although he has established himself as a songwriter, penning songs for the likes of Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and American voice actress Grey DeLisle-Griffin, Vincent Vaughan will be delivering a catalogue of his own covers of some of his favourite artists’ work. He seeks to pay tribute to his musical influences, to which he will then channel that same musical passion into his own original work.
