Exclusive Interview With Daniel David

East London artist Daniel David, was amongst the artistes that made it on our interview list lately.I recently had an interview with him and he was gracious enough to field questions from me concerning his musical career.His previous single “Me an U”peaked at #15 on the Music Week urban club chart after eight consecutive weeks of club support. It received the support of radio stations such as Kiss FM’s Majestic, which played the track three weeks in a row.Kindly read the interview below and be sure to check out ‘feel it’ by Daniel David.

1.Tell me about yourself?

I wanna make the world dance. I am great lover of music. Let’s be great:)

2.How long have you been into music?

Literally after I got tired of getting fowled in football lol. Like right after ha but my mum would probably say from the moment I could dance

3.What inspired you to write “Feel it”?

Depression in one word. I was going through such a rough time and feel it was a way of telling myself everything was gonna be alright.

4.Musically, what are your biggest influences and who are your favorite musicians? 

Mum use to listen to a lot of reggae and soul music so got that bug when I was younger but later I use to study music an loved the way Motown would structure songs. They have a perfect structure. My fave musicians are prince, oasis, Michael Jackson, Madonna, the 1975, skepta, dappy

5.Tell me about a project or accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career

There has been a few actually but the highlights. Getting my 1st solo record played on kiss fm was wicked. Going on a national tour with my group KiG was good as well.

6.What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing any song?

It’s weird but I like to think lol. I like to think of solutions to problems I am going through at that current moment. It somehow makes me feel good.

 7.How long does it take you to write a song? 

10mins but it depends on what kind of song I’m trying to write

8.Which musician would you like to collaborate with next?

Jermaine dupri an Arianne grande from America and Adele, dappy , Ella Mai an chip from the uk

9.What image do you think your music conveys?

I think all my music conveys confidence. They all have a happy tone to it even if there sad. I learnt that from Motown.

10.What has been your biggest challenge so far?

Dealing with my mums dementia. There are no instructions for not being able to communicate properly with someone that close to u.
