Col Gerrard Shares New Single ‘Nowhere’

London-based singer-songwriter Col Gerrard returns with the new single ‘Nowhere’. Growing up in London, having signed his first record contract when he was 19 years of age with Warner-Chappell, Col has made a name for himself writing for television and film as well as other artists. After leaving music for a while, running his own business before then entering the world of film as a writer and director, Gerrard has gone full circle and now comes back to his first love, music.

Having previously been signed to Warner-Chappell while it was under the management of Jimmy Henney, Col has gained a vast amount of experience within the music industry which he uses to inform his current writing and musical style. Now working with Emmy Award-winning composer and producer Matthew McCauley, Col’s new single ‘Nowhere’ is a great example of his talent as both a writer and a performer.

A soundscape of strummed acoustics, crunchy guitar riffs, swelling organ, tight drums and grounding bass create a warming alt-rock soundscape under Col’s smokey, gravelly and emotive lead vocal. As the track progresses through ear-worm vocal lines and subtle, infectious guitar riffs, the track’s pop-rock appeal shines.

Speaking about the track, Col adds: “This track was created and written in Los Angeles when I saw a woman walking by herself on the beach. The track is about something being so close but you just can’t reach it”

An experienced singer-songwriter with an impeccable ear for affecting yet still commercially viable soundscapes, Col Gerrard’s new single ‘Nowhere’
