Pop powerhouse, Jon Mullins, has released the official music video for his latest single, “Hot Like Summer.”The video premieres today at Nashville Noise.
Directed and produced by Brandon Cawood, “Hot Like Summer” captures Mullins in contemplative and exuberant moments of sheer joy and bliss, juxtaposed against beautiful beach scenes in Laguna Beach and city boulevards in Panama City Beach, Florida, interwoven with emotional studio performances showcased in brilliant neon lighting that were filmed in Dalton, Georgia.
“‘Hot Like Summer’ came out of nowhere and completely breathed new life into my writing,” says Mullins. “Before this, my style had been heavily concentrated on talking about more serious and introspective subjects. But I wanted to be able to tell the story of when I first met my wife, Whitney and I wanted to do it in a more playful way. Brandon and I filmed the video over a span of three days, in three locations and two states. I’m so glad he took on the project because he was able to breathe a life into it that is better than I could have ever imagined. From the locations, to the direction, to the editing, Brandon knew exactly what the song needed to look like. So here’s a peek into the moment I truly found love. Connection, obsession, electricity and heat…mixed with a track that packs a punch.”
With “Hot Like Summer,” Mullins’ continues his upward climb on the ladder of national success that he first laid claim to during his 2020 stint on NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ when judge Kelly Clarkson said his riveting performances gave her “chills.”
