Can you briefly tell us the rationale behind your band name?
The name Shedonist is a play on hedonism, the philosophy that one should live life based on pleasure and satisfaction.
Covid-19 has been ravaging the world with much restriction ever since the Virus broke out. How has this global pandemic affected the band?
The pandemic has been hard on all of us, not being able to play shows has really changed the way musicians live. However it has given us the time to record and work on new music, and everything we’ve been releasing so far was recorded during lockdown!
Your guys are gearing up to release “Bad decisions” what should be the Expectation of your fans from this song?
‘Bad Decisions’ was born after a night of questionable activities in the City of Angels. It’s about owning up to and laughing at your mistakes, and admitting to yourself that you shouldn’t feel bad about your guilty pleasures. If something makes you feel good, do it. No regrets.
As an alternative rock music band, how do you rate your live performance ability?
We miss playing live shows! We used to play at least two shows a month before the pandemic, and would have so much fun rocking out with our fans.
Is Shedonist affiliated with any performance rights organization?
Our songs are registered under BMI.
“5 minutes” and “Daddy” are some of the songs that have been released by the band before now. In the ratio of 5-10 how good is your forthcoming single compared to the previous ones?
We think all the singles are amazing in their own right!
What has been the major challenge that the band have faced over the years?
The biggest challenge other than the pandemic is figuring out our unique sound. Our members come from different bands so putting them all together created a new genre almost.
If an individual or group of people decides to support the band, what are some of those major areas that the band might be needing support in?
Our songs are all up for purchase on Bandcamp, that’s the best way to support musicians these days because the money goes directly to them. Streaming services pay very little, so buying merch is another great way to help an artist.
