Tweeps roast Sarkodie over Shatta Wale’s Beyonce feature. The news of Ghana’s award winning dancehall act, Shatta Wale’s feature on Beyonce’s curated album, The Lion King: The Gift got social media buzzing. It was however, noticed that BET award winning rapper, Sarkodie was also trending as a result, but for all the wrong reasons. The rapper was seriously being trolled on twitter especially, for his exclusion in the album.
Ghanaian tweeps, most often Shatta Wale fans took the opportunity to rub Shatta Wale’s new feat in Sarkodie’s face, thus tweeting nasty comments about him and calling him names. The tweeps claimed the dancehall act with this new feat is now way ahead of Sarkodie. Others also claimed Shatta Wale is on his way to beating Sarkodie to winning Ghana’s first Grammy award.
The trolls intensified to the extent that, Kabutey, the name used to mock Sarkodie rose to beat Shatta Wale on the trending list, taking the number two(2) spot. Meanwhile, Sarkodie in reaction to this, just tweeted to congratulate his colleague, Shatta Wale on his success, which again sparked some more trolls at him.
On the flip side, this drew our notice to the fact that Beyonce has never featured any African rapper, Sarkodie is not the only one left out, the likes of Davido too were not included. So why should he be mocked for losing out on this, maybe there was no rap was needed in this project.
