We had the privilege to interview American singer Lexx and she was gracious enough to field questions from us concerning her musical career.Kindly, read the full interview with her below, and be sure to check out “Runaway” by Lexx.
What goals did you have in mind when starting your musical career and how close have you come to actualizing them?
One of my main goals has been to record and release 10 of my songs and to go on tour, at some point. I have one song down, so only 9 more to go! Hopefully, the next 9 get out there a lot more quickly than this first one. The process was SO long, but I wanted to make it the best it could be.
Your song “Runaway” is gaining much popularity. How does that make you feel?
It feels really good; I’ve been really blown away by all of the positive feedback and support I’ve gotten. It’s such a different sounding song, so I wasn’t sure how people would receive it, but the response has been great!
What projects are you currently working on? Which project is going to be released first in the coming days?
I’m always writing, and I’m currently recording my next single, which I hope to release within the next month.
What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?
I’m a newer artist, so I think the biggest challenge has been finances. Being an artist has a lot of expenses and I’m trying to do it all myself, so it taken a lot of perseverance and faith. I think every artist just prays that there is some kind of return on investment, because otherwise you don’t have a career, it’s just a really expensive hobby.
Do you get used to being a celebrity?
I definitely don’t feel like I’m a celebrity, but I’ll let you guys know when that changes!
Can I know the things you do when not recording?
I spend a lot of time in the gym; I’m one of those weirdos who actually enjoys working out! I love boxing, lifting and anything else that keeps me active.
What’s your philosophy of life?
It’s always have a good time… Juuuust kidding 🙂 My philosophy on life is to spend as much of your time on earth loving and serving others. Our relationships with other people have more value than anything, so spend your time cultivating those and putting other people before yourself. I think that’s what makes a truly happy person.
What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever done for you?
Hmmm… I get strange messages all the time, but I don’t think anyone has ever done anything too weird for me! My interactions have been pretty normal, so far.
What would you like remembered about you?
I’d like people to remember that I was a kind; that’s really important to me!
What is one message you would give to your fans?
I’d tell anyone who feels a connection with me and my music to constantly have ambitions and set goals for themselves… and also, thank you, thank you so much for your support! I love you!
